Introduction

We are hoping that this will be another "epic" RV adventure through Eastern Canada and parts of Eastern United States. We will cover more than 12000 miles not including tours or excursions in about 4 months. We plan to visit Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador and Prince Edward Island in Canada as well as Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York in the United States. We will cross the border between the U.S. near Ottawa Ontario Canada spending almost 80 days in the provinces in Canada. We will be visiting National Historic Sites in both countries, along with some of the world's greatest National, Provincial and State parks.

We thought about doing the trip with a hosted caravan, because of the language issues, but feel we want to take a slower paced trip than is offered by the companies that do this type of trip. We felt the same about our Alaska trip, and it worked out as we expected.  It allowed us to have not only the additional time we needed, but also gave us the places we wanted to include.

We will be taking a ferry to Newfoundland from Nova Scotia that will be 7 hours each way.  This is longer than we have travelled on past trips.  We will also travel by ferry from Newfoundland to Labrador and back.

Countless web sites have been consulted giving us information on tours, destinations, camping, border crossings, technical references and advice on many more issues than we can list.  In addition to the web sites for each of our destination these were helpful: Good Sam, Passport America, Canadian Provincial Parks, Canadian National Parks, and AAA.  We are sure we are leaving out a number of other sites we used as reference in making the itinerary and reservations needed for this journey.  Google Maps has been very important in the process, giving information about locations, distances and a host of assistance.

We are so excited to make this trip and have been working in the arrangements for a long time. Hope you all enjoy following us as we make our way through areas we have never been.  I am sure this trip will be as wonderful as all our other Expeditions.
